VA Puget Sound is undergoing an unprecedented era of construction and remodeling at the American Lake and Seattle divisions. These changes will improve the quality of our services to veterans but we ask for your patience while these changes are underway.

How does this affect me?

Work being done may cause closures, detours or relocation of services. We will list these activities as frequently as possible to minimize the disruption of your visit.

Updates

Seattle Division

1/26/11: The steel girders are being installed that will become the frame for the new MRI and Patient Library Building at the Seattle Division. This project is located near the skybridge between buildings 1 and 100. Photos of the project can be found here.

1/7/11: The Emergency Room project is moving along as the contractor continues to put the final touches on the exterior finishes.  Once the exterior is complete the contractor can focus solely on the interior of the new building.  Tentative completion date is Spring 2011. 6/18/10: The main building entrance will be closed in order to safely de-construct and re-construct the new connection from the new Emergency Department building and the existing lobby area.  In order to keep access to the building, the contractor is constructing a temporary entrance between the existing lobby and existing Emergency Department (near the ATM and Espresso Stand). See map for more information. If you have any questions/concerns, please call 206-617-4527.

3/24/10: During the next 10-12 months, traffic coming into the Seattle division will be modified to accomodate construction of our new Emergency Department. Click here for more information.

American Lake Division

2/9/11: The following road and parking lots at American Lake will close for construction:
1. The access road behind Building 4 will close for several months while Building 4 is remodeled.
2. The parking lot between Building 4 and Building 61 will close for several months while Building 4 is remodeled. Parking will still be available in the CLC parking lot, behind Building 18, and behind Building 62.
3. The parking lot between Building 3 and Building 4 will close for several weeks for resurfacing. Parking will still be available in the CLC parking lot, behind Building 18, and behind Building 62.

November 2010 to spring 2011:  Upgrades to sidewalks, roads, and parking lots around campus. Work includes adding a 3rd lane in Veterans Drive by Verity Credit Union, resurfacing the gravel lot behind the main parking lot, resurfacing the lot between the Kitchen/Dining Hall (Building 3) and Domiciliary (Building 4).
