Your provider has determined that your disease is appropriate for a referral for consideration of stem cell/marrow transplantation. For those who are accepted for continued evaluation at the VA Puget Sound Seattle Marrow Transplant Unit (MTU), you and your caregiver will be brought to Seattle for final evaluation. Be prepared to repeat most of the tests you already completed at your referring VAMC.

The MTU is a multidisciplinary team comprised of the director, rotating attending medical doctors, rotating medical fellows (supervised by the attending doctors), clinical nurse coordinator, nurse manager, 24-hour/7 days per week house nursing staff, pharmacy staff, a psychologist, a social worker, a social work assistant, a dietitian, a chaplain, and a multitude of support staff to fully support you and your caregiver(s) throughout your transplant journey.
