About the Program 

The Marrow Transplant Unit provides hematopoietic transplant services for Veterans in need of stem cell (or marrow) transplants.  Your physician at your local VA medical center will send a referral packet to VA Central Office where it will be looked at by the Transplant Review Board.  Once you have been accepted for transplant you will go to one of the three VA centers that provide stem cell transplants for evaluation.  This includes the VA Puget Sound Marrow Transplant Unit.

• transplant using an unrelated donor
• transplant using your own cells
• inpatient and outpatient services on the Marrow Transplant Unit
• typing for donor matching
