VA Puget Sound Health Care System

Your provider has determined that your disease is appropriate for a referral for consideration of stem cell/marrow transplantation.  For those who are accepted for continued evaluation at the VA Puget Sound Seattle Marrow Transplant Unit (MTU), you and your caregiver will be brought to Seattle for final evaluation.  Be prepared to repeat most of the tests you already completed at your referring VAMC.

Please refer to the links on the right side of this page as your guide to answers and information about the marrow transplant program.

The MTU is a multidisciplinary team comprised of the director, rotating attending medical doctors, rotating medical fellows (supervised by the attending doctors), clinical nurse coordinator, nurse manager, 24-hour/7 days per week house nursing staff, pharmacy staff, a psychologist, a social worker, a social work assistant, a dietitian, a chaplain, and a multitude of support staff to fully support you and your caregiver(s) throughout your transplant journey.

For any questions you have please call the Marrow Transplant Unit and the ward clerk will direct you to the appropriate person to answer any of your questions.  The MTU telephone number is (206) 764-2199.
